i'm chel and this is "in quiet verse" 💕 welcome! i'm so glad you're here and sharing this space with me. i started this blog as a place to share my writing, both poetic and calligraphic. i have a deep love for words and language as an expression of our humanity in both literary and decorative form (and sometimes both!). what you'll find here is a collection of my poetry and calligraphy work. this is a journey and with you here along for the ride, we'll have a great time ☺️

i love writing pieces in verse (hence the blog name) and most will follow some form or structure. the constraint of the form forces creativity and use of language in different ways and that makes it fun! i'm still finding my voice a bit, so the subjects of my pieces might be all over the place for now, but journeys are to be had for a reason, right?

some housekeeping: i do, put all my pieces behind a subscription wall, but it's free. i did this because i want to try to keep the work from the prying eyes of bots and any comments free of spam and that's the best way to do it. by subscribing, you'll also get each new piece in your inbox, so that's nice. i encourage comments and your thoughts on the pieces because what is art without dialog?
